Shasta County Cattlemen’s Association Scholarship Information

The Director's of the Shasta County Cattlemen's Association have agreed to extend the deadline for applicants applying for the SCCA Scholarship until June 1, 2008.  All applications are to be mailed to Roy Atkins, P.O. Box 143, Whitmore, CA 96096.  Applications are to be made on a "Shasta College Scholarship Application" available at the Shasta College Financial Office and UCCE Office.
 

    For this year only an extension of the deadline until June 1, 2008.

Shasta County Cattlemen’s Association Scholarship Information

Criteria includes: 
            1. Applicant must have an AGRICULTURE MAJOR (preference given to                         applicants with Animal Science emphasis)
            2. Must have maintained a 3.0 cumulative GPA
            3. Must have successfully completed two years of college
            4. Must be transferring or attending a 4-year university next academic year
            5. Must be a resident of membership area: North of Cottonwood Creek to                Siskiyou County, top of Hatchet Mountain, West to Trinity County line.

The SCCA will advertise this scholarship through fliers and posters with the applications being available at both the UCCE Office and Shasta College.

 

Join local cattlemen's association?

It is highly recommended as this is the best way to get involved in issues affecting cattlemen.  Local cattlemen's associations select representatives to membership positions on CCA committees and the CCA board of directors.  Local cattlemen's associations also develop policy at their meetings, which is then submitted to the CCA, and if passed, submitted by CCA to NCBA.  Additionally, local associations are better able to assist producers with local issues as they arise.
